Elizabeth (Betty) A. Abrams (Nee: Philhower, McCall), formerly of Stanton and currently of Dover, Delaware, was called home by our Lord and Savior on January 24, 2026 at the age of 87.
Betty was born a twin on October 1, 1938 to Theodore J. Philhower and Alice Lambert Philhower.
Betty grew up in the town of Stanton, and graduated from Conrad High School High class of 1956.
She was pre-deceased in death by her parents and brother James L Philhower Sr., nephew James L Philhower Jr, and her husband of 55 years Vernon K. Abrams.
Betty is survived by her twin sister. Lillian P Callaway Dover, DE, sons Charles J. McCall Jr (Debbie), Kenneth W. McCall, Brian K Abrams (Wendy). Grandchildren: Becky Starkey (Jimmy), Charlie McCall (Meghan), Shannon McCall, Ben (Nicole), Cliff (Erin), Erica Dempsey (Jimmy), and Philip Abrams. 19 Great-Grand Children, several nieces and nephews.
Betty was a 54 year member of St. Marks Methodist Church Stanton and attended Three Stones Church in Dover. She was also a 59 year Member of the Delaware Order of the Eastern Star Ruth Chapter #19.
A Service will be held at St Mark’s United Methodist Church, 1700 Limestone Road, Stanton, DE 19804 with Eastern Star Services on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 11:00 am. Friends and family may gather beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park
