Elizabeth "Beth" Theresa Nye

Elizabeth “Beth” Theresa Nye, aged 47, of Milford, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 6, 2021. 

Born in West Chester, PA and raised in Newark, DE, Beth was the daughter of the late Jacqueline Nye, Rudolph Castelli, and stepfather-Jerry Lofland. 

She was a customer service representative of Coventry prior to her onset of her rare blood disorder, hereditary coproporphyria (HCP), which ultimately took her out of the work force and since then she devoted her life to being an amazing mother and nonna. Beth was a very strong advocate for her illness and wanted to bring as much awareness as possible to it. 

Beth was known for being an avid discount shopper, where she loved to look for the best deals from her frequent mall and goodwill trips, and her weekly yard sale adventures. She also had a spot in her heart for all sweets: cakes, cookies, etc. Beth absolutely adored being at Rehoboth Beach, feeling the sand in between her toes and the summer breeze flowing gently through her hair. However, she felt the most comfortable being in Florida, due to the warmer weather being better for her health and illness. She loved vacationing to Walt Disney World, especially with her grandbabies, and being at home in her and her mother’s condo in Hollywood, FL. Beth was also known as being very fun, fashionable, crafty, and having the best recipes and taste of music. As of lately, she had found a loving companion in her kitty cat- Cheera. Most of all, Beth will be forever remembered as a loving and devoted mother, nonna, daughter, and friend. 

Elizabeth was survived by her daughters: Nicholle Nye and Kayla Enriquez, her grandbabies: Heaven Nye, Brian Green, Hazel Rivera, and Kennedy Cathell, her dear friend: Gale Rego, and her furbaby: Cheera. 

She was predeceased by her soulmate and the love of her life: Brian Pippin, her dear mother: Jacqueline Nye, her father: Rudolph Castelli, and her stepfather: Jerry Lofland. 

A memorial will be held in Elizabeth’s honor as soon as arrangements can be made. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Porphyria Foundation, 4900 Wood Way, Suite 780, Houston, Texas 77056-1837.
