Eileen Laura Kate (Grover) Bringman

Eileen Bringman, 89 of Milford DE, passed away peacefully of natural causes on March 14th 2024. She was born in London England, June 1934.

Eileen and her family survived the London Blitz during World War II. She and her brother were eventually evacuated to the relative safety of the countryside. She later attended nursing school and trained as a nanny.

After her education she met Frederick Bringman Jr., stationed at a nearby Air Force Base in England and in the 1950s immigrated with him to America.

They were soon married in Texas and traveled to several Air Force Bases, both here and abroad. They eventually came to Dover DE. where dad retired from the Air Force. 

Mom and Dad later moved to Felton to make a home and raise their family. Mom liked to read and tell many stories from her childhood and early life, most of them probably true. Dad continued his career as a mechanic and Mom would buy and sell clothing, books and knickknacks at yard sales and sell at several flea markets. She worked hard to help provide for her family as we somehow always had everything that we needed. She was a kind, loving wife and mother and a friend to everyone she met.

In addition to her family, Eileen is preceded in death by her husband, Fred and a son, Steven Bringman of Ft. Myers FL. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Mayfield of Milford and son, Fred {Deborah} of Clayton.  Eileen is also survived by five grandchildren and six great grandchildren who she adored along with her beloved companion, Sassy. 

Mom requested that there be no memorial service but to remember her as she was and to be kind to each other.
