Dorothy "Dottie" Anne Moyer, 81 of Dover, DE passed away at her home on June 18th, 2025, after a prolonged illness.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, George F. and Dorothy F. Pepper; her older brother George F. Pepper Jr. and her younger brother John M. Pepper.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Charles M. Moyer, after 61 years in marriage, her brother James A. Pepper; her two sisters, Elizabeth "Betsy" Shreckengast and Patricia "Pepper" Jaffray, her son Charles "Mike" Moyer and his wife Andrea and her grandson Christopher "Chris" Moyer who is currently serving in the US Navy.
Dorothy was born on July 24th, 1943, and was raised on a farm on the Tuckahoe River near Ridgely, Maryland. She graduated from North Caroline High School in 1961, then graduated from the Easton Hospital School of Nursing and later received her B.S. in Health Care Administration from St. Joseph's College. During her career, she was an R.N. at Milford Memorial Hospital, various medical centers, and she was the first Director of the Adult Care Program at the Dover, DE Modern Maturity Center. She also served as the Director of Nurses at Kent Convalescent Center in Smyrna, DE. In 1964, she married her husband Charles Moyer and supported him in his ministry at various churches in Kent and Sussex Counties over their 61 years of marriage. Dorothy volunteered in various church and community organizations, such as the Peninsula Conference Nurses and the American Cancer Society. She was always very happy, always liked, and will be missed.
Services will be held at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, DE on July 1, 2025, at 1pm. Friends and family may call beginning at 12 noon.
