Dorothy J. Kendall passed away at the age of 90 peacefully at her home in Dover, DE on January 25, 2025.
She was born on December 19, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Harry Patterson and Clara Kerr (Patterson). Dorothy was raised with her two brothers James Patterson and Daniel Kerr.
Dorothy is survived by her children Linda and her husband Danny (deceased) Smith and Warren (Billy) and Elaine (deceased) Kendall. Her grandchildren: Richard and his wife Kimberly Eddy, Joel (Julie) Dykeman, Dan Kendall, Misty Denato, Kristopher Kendall and Ashley Lambert and her husband Richard (Jim) Carns and her great grandchildren: Jacob Eddy, Richard (Jimmy) Carns II and his fiancé Samantha Abbott, Ryan Eddy, Toni and her husband Jacob (Jake) Serafino, Isaac Carns, Owen Fischer, Isabella Kendall, Braeden Eddy, Kambria Kendall, and Cole Lambert.
Dorothy enjoyed going to Club Fitness in Dover every day without fail. She loved to cook dinners for her family and make sweet treats to bring to her friends at the gym. Dorothy has always had a love for animals but in 1955 she took an interest in dogs and decided to get into the business of breeding and showing dogs. She started with Miniature Schnauzers then Lhasa Apso’s, Yorkshire Terriers and finally Toy Fox Terriers. Dorothy had a strong faith and enjoyed attending church on Sundays at Townsend Church. We will be having a Celebration of Dorothy’s Life on Saturday February 8, 2025 at 11:30 A.M at Townsend Church 4519 Dupont Pkwy, Townsend, DE 19734. Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
