Dorothy F. Jones

Dorothy F. Jones died Wednesday, May 9, 2018 after a full life of 98 years.  Dorothy was born December 2, 1919 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Harry and Helen LaVere.

Dorothy retired from Playtex in 1969. She was an active member of Whatcoat United Methodist Church for over 60 years. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Richard L. Scott and his wife Ruth of Milford, De and Harold L. Scott Sr. and his wife Susan of Dover; her brother Edward LaVere of Burgaw, NC, brother Kenneth LaVere of Wyoming, De, her sister Helen Mills of Dover, De and 22 grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday, May 15 at 11:00 am at the Whatcoat Church, 16 N. Main Street, Camden, DE where friends may call beginning at 10:00 am.  Burial will be private in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

The family would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Delaware Hospice. They ask that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Dorothy’s name to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Hwy, Dover, DE 19901.
