Donald Lee Joseph Perkins

    Donald Lee Joseph Perkins, of Wyoming, DE, passed away suddenly in his home, Tuesday, May 25, 2021. He was 79.

    Don was born September 12, 1941, on the United States Naval Base in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Donald & Cathryn(Doman) Perkins. He had worked in the Trucking Business for many years, and was a member of the Teamsters Local 676, in Collingswood, New Jersey.

   Don was very active with the children. He was a Cub Scout Leader, in Sewell, N.J.; had also coached midget football, and was a Little League Umpire, Coaching in the Clayton Little League, and serving on the Clayton Recreation Committee, all in New Jersey.  In his free time, Don also enjoyed gardening, and making a variety of gel candles.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Theresa “Honey” Brown, and his mother-in-law, who loved him like a son, Pearl Taylor.

   Don is survived by his wife of almost 36 years, Ruth(Taylor) Perkins; 7 children, Joseph Perkins & wife, Shari, of Hartly; JoAnne(Tinker) Haney & husband, Terry, of Williamstown, N.J.; Steve Perkins & wife, Amy, of Wynnona,N.J.; Ronald Green & wife, Shannon, of Clanton, Alabama; Michelle Green & fiancee’ Leroy, of Lexington, Alabama; Diane Green Bresser & husband, Donald, of Williamstown, N.J.; and Cheryl Green Deitrick & fiancee’ Jason McCoy, of Jemison, Alabama. 17 Grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren.

   Funeral Services will be held 3pm, Thursday, June 3, 2021, in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave. Wyoming, DE; where family and friends may view 2 hours before. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a local little league or midget football league of ones choice.
