It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved, Donald Anthony Landry, who departed this life on June 15, 2025. Donald was a man of strength, warmth, and quiet wisdom—loved deeply by his family and cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Born on September 24, 1960, Donald lived a life marked by compassion, integrity, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Melvina S.F. Landry; his parents, Alice (Rider) Landry and Francis Landry, Sr.; and his brothers Bruce Michael Landry, Gerard Landry.
Donald was a man who always kept his promises and showed up—reliably, quietly, and with a heart full of intention. Whether through kind gestures, words of encouragement, or simply being present when it mattered most, he made sure those around him knew they were loved. He always tried his best, no matter the circumstance, and his steady presence was a source of strength and comfort for many.
Together with Melvina, Donald built a beautiful family and a lasting legacy of love and resilience. He is survived by their children: Jessica Franklin, Bejeana Franklin, and Jermaine Neal. Donald was a proud grandfather to: Wilbert Hurst Jr., Jayveion Hurst, B’Jayla Hurst, and Gia Marie Cousins. His love and legacy continue through his great-grandchildren: Wilbert Hurst III, Na’kiem Hurst, and Na’Shoni Hurst.
Donald also leaves behind his beloved siblings: Shirley R. Broomfield of Florida, Francis A. Landry, Sr. of Dover, Mary A. Landry of Dover, James A. Landry, Sr. of Dover, Gerald Landry of Dover
He is also remembered and missed by a large and loving extended family, including a host of nieces and nephews whom he cherished deeply. Donald's bond with his family was a cornerstone of his life, and he poured love, laughter, and wisdom into each relationship.
The family would also love to give a special thanks to Ms. Angie Peck and hospice for making his final days as comfortable as possible.
