Don Maurice “Donnie” Tribbett, Jr., 46, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family April 8, 2019 at Bayhealth Medical Center in Dover, Delaware. He was born January 25, 1973 to the late Don M. Tribbett, Sr. and Venice E. Stevens Tribbett.
Donnie received his education in the Smyrna School District. Donnie began working and being trained by his father to perform various flooring and installation techniques in the family carpet business. After many years of working with his father, he started his own flooring business.
Don was united in marriage to Kimberly Johnson on February 22, 2003. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior many years ago at Mt. Olive Pentecostal Church under the leadership of Pastor Constance Beach. He recently rededicated his life to Christ and renewed his relationship and his vows to God.
A few of his favorite pastimes were spending time with his granddaughter, Takaira and most recently his grandson, Rodney. Donnie also loved spending time with family and friends, especially cooking on the grill. That was one of his favorite things to do. His favorite holiday was Christmas, he said that Christmas is for the children; he loved spending Christmas with family.
He loved the Philadelphia Eagles and was ecstatic when they finally won a Super Bowl. He liked fishing and enjoyed doing so with his granddaughter. He also enjoyed playing paintball with his brothers and friends. He had a passion for motorcycles and enjoyed riding his bike “Becky Lynn”. His brothers were his best friends. He played numerous sports in middle school and high school.
He was preceded in death by his parents Don and Venice Tribbett; his maternal and paternal grandparents, Virginia C. Stevens, Charles and Ellen Tribbett. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Kim; his daughter Ashley; two grandchildren Takaira and Rodney; two brothers Jason L. and LaMar J. Tribbett; his grandmother Lily Tribbett; a devoted aunt Marion Gardley (Troy) and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, a nephew, cousins and a host of special friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Powerhouse Ministries, 115 E. Glenwood Avenue, Smyrna, DE 19977 where there will be a viewing from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M.
