Dianne Carlisle Obituary

Dianne Coverdale Carlisle, 86, of Woodside, Delaware passed away from a battle with Dementia on January 25,2024 in her daughter and son in law’s home.  Dianne is the daughter of Edna S. Stewart Coverdale and Kensil Edward Coverdale.  She was born June 15, 1937 in Felton, Delaware.

Dianne was a member of the Woodside United Methodist Church.  She was a very active member of the United Methodist Women's Group.  She was also very involved in the making of the Easter Eggs every year at the church.  She was the past president of the Avon Club.  She was a member of the Red Hatters club.  Dianne loved to bowl and was on a league for years.  She was an assistant 4-H Leader with Mrs. Barbara Ann Warren for the Woodside Emeralds 4-H Club.  Harold and Dianne were active members of The First State Antique Tractor Club.  She retired from working at the Delaware Home and Hospital for the Chronically Ill in Smyrna, Delaware after 25 years.  The family spent their vacation every year at the Delaware State Fair.  Kenneth and Wayne showed cattle and Carole worked in the 4-H building.  Harold and Dianne did a lot of traveling throughout the years.  Dianne loved going to the beach with her friends, Betty and Gladys Warren, and Justine Davis.  There were other friends and family that would go at times throughout the years.  She loved taking her grandchildren along. 

Dianne is preceded in death by her husband Harold Carlisle.  Her parents Edna S. Stewart Coverdale and Kensil Edward Coverdale.

Dianne is survived by her three children, Kenneth (Charlene “Beanie”) Carlisle from Moorestown, NJ.  Carole (Matt) Fleming from Frederica, DE.  Wayne (Debbie) Carlisle from North East, MD.

She was blessed by her six grandchildren.  Justin Carlisle (Sandy) Hainesport, NJ. Jaime Carlisle Hayes (Dave) Allentown, NJ.  Emily Carlisle, Chicago, IL. Michelle Fleming, Dover, DE. Crystal Fleming Hemric (Jason) Viola, DE.  Kenny Carlisle (Danielle), Northeast, MD.

Her loving eight great grandchildren.  Ava Jo Hayes, Hunter Hayes and Colton Hayes.  All of Allentown, NJ. Amaya Fleming, Dover, DE.  Will and Jazmine Hemric, from Viola, DE.  Kori and Sydney Carlisle from Northeast, MD.

She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Doris and Dot Carlisle.  Who will always remember her as not a sister in law, but as a sister.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and kids that were friends of her children.  Some of whom considered her like a second mother.

She had no siblings, but has a lot of cousins.  Most of them she has remained very close with throughout her life.

Her and Harold have made a lot of long lasting friendships throughout their lives.

We would like to give appreciation to Compassionate Care Hospice.  What a wonderful group of people.  The family would also like to thank Amiyah Ortiz and a special thank you to Dr. Rubocke and Holly.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 10:00am at Pippin Funeral Home 119 W. Camden Wyoming Ave Wyoming, DE 19934.  The funeral service will begin at 1:00pm with burial to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery.
