Diana Rylander Obituary

Diana Juanita Davis Rylander entered God’s Kingdom the afternoon of Thursday, January 18, 2024. 

Diana Rylander was born May 14, 1942 to Margaret L. Giddens (deceased) in Belle Haven, Virginia.

She gave her life to the Lord and was baptized at New Mount Zion Baptist Church, Painter, Virginia.

Diana was educated in the Accomack County Public School system in Belle Haven, Virginia.  Upon graduation she married Master Sergeant James E. Rylander (deceased) a union of 49 years.  Diana’s  travels took her to Langley Air Force Base, Hampton, Virginia; Loring Air Force Base, Bangor, Maine; Dover Air Force Base, Dover, Delaware; Edwards Air Force Base, California; and Howard Air Force Base, in Panama.

Diana settled in Manassas, Virginia, in 1978 after James retired from the United States Air Force, and lived there for 28 years before moving to Camden, Delaware in 2006.

While living in Manassas Diana was a pre-school teacher for 20 years.  Diana was a member of First Baptist Church, Manassas, Virginia.  She served as deaconess, and on the special events ministry.

Upon moving to Delaware she was a member of First Baptist Church.  She later attended Crossroad Christian Church, Dover, Delaware with her daughter and son-in-law.

In addition to her mother, Diana is preceded in death by her husband, James E. Rylander, her daughter,  Kimberly Renee’ Davis, and her grandson, Keith Edmonds.

Diana and James have three children Marcia Cagle (James), Kimberly Davis (deceased), and James A. Rylander, Jr. (Gloria).

Diana leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Marcia Cagle (James) and son, James A. Rylander (Gloria).  Three grandsons Jamar Cagle (Liz), Keith Edmonds (deceased), and Jarrett Cagle (Azhia).   Three great-grandsons Micah Cagle, Jacob Lizarraga and Yaalon Cagle.  And one great grand-daughter Yari Cagle.  Two brother-in laws, Pastor Randolph Rylander, New Mount Olive Baptist Church, Hampton, Virginia (Elaine) and Fred Holcomb (Colethia deceased) and a host of family and friends.

A public viewing for Diana will take place on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 10:00am at Pippin Funeral Home.  A graveside will follow at Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, 6468 Bay Road Federica, DE 19946.
