Dennis Lewis Collins

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis Lewis Collins, a beloved father, grandfather, and husband. Dennis peacefully passed away on October 30,2024, surrounded by his family at the age of 69.

Dennis was born February 3, 1955, to Oscar Lewis Collins and Goldie Elizabeth (Coleman) Collins of Dover. After his graduation, Dennis started his career in the commercial tire business at Firestone from 1974 to 1986 as a tire technician.  From there he continued as a warehouse manger for Carl King Tire Co. for 35 years until moving on to Service Tire Truck Center as an Operations Manager until his retirement in 2020. Dennis enjoyed doing yard work, watching Nascar and spending time with his family.  He also loved the Holidays.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 46 years Madeline Collins; his children Virginia ( Beth ) Martin of Smyrna, William ( Mike ) Collins and wife Nikki of Camden, and Tiffeny Collins of Clayton; 6 grandchildren, Kyria Lowman, Illiana Maul, Jakia Martin, Zayne Collins, Kannon Reed and Tristian Reed and 3 great-grandchildren, Omeh, Omari, and Nevaeh;  three sisters Marylou Patel, Linda Pepper of Virginia and Diane Severson of Dover. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Jeffrey Collins, his grandson Tylie Lowman, and great granddaughter Noelani Lowman 

A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Cheswold United Methodist Church 97 Main Street Cheswold De. 19936 where family and friends may visit with the family from 2pm until 4pm. Burial will be private.
