Delores Mc Rant slipped into eternal rest, peacefully in her sleep on Monday, October 16, 2023, at her residence.
Delores was born in Hackensack, NJ March 25, 1941, to the late Louis James, Sr., and Mattie Esther Moore. She was educated through the Hackensack public school system. Years later, she enrolled at Bergen County Vocational Tech School and attended adult education programs. While there, she was appointed to tutor foreign students.
At an early age, Delores accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at New Hope Baptist Church of Hackensack, NJ. As an adult, she joined Victory Temple in Newark, NJ and received certification in Prayer & Outreach Ministry. She was also part of the Pastoral Hospitality Ministry under the leadership of Apostle Ernest Leonard. In 2001, the family relocated to Smyrna, DE, joining the Ministry of Crossroad Christian Church. Delores faithfully served her church and became an active member of the Covenant Glory Women’s Ministry and the Deacon Ministry.
Her employment with Faberge’ Cosmetics spanned over 10 years, from 1970 until Faberge’ relocated to a southern state. She gained employment with National Pharmacies as a Pharmaceutical Customer Service Rep and later with Merk-Medco as a Pharmacist Tech where she retired in 1999.
Delores was a member of The Red Hatters, Dover DE Chapter, and a past member of the Majestic Lodge #153 in Hackensack, NJ. She is a former President of the Hargrove, Jones, Squires Family Reunion Branch #4.
She greeted everyone with a gigantic smile that would brighten the room! She enjoyed watching foreign films and movies with Biblical themes. She believed in “fasting and praying,” and always quoted a scripture for you to soothe whatever was troubling you. She loved her family wholeheartedly and prayed diligently against generational curses. Delores came from a bloodline of strong women who believed in family virtues. Delores, the Matriarch of the Moore Clan, raised three generations of children; she was truly her “sisters’ keeper.”
