Deborah White Obituary

Deborah Catherine White, 72, of Dover passed away at home peacefully on March 8, 2024.  Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Jean E. (Hamp) and Alfred T. Fili.

Debbie was a 1969 graduate of Lenape Regional High School in Medford, N.J., where she was a baton majorette.  She later attended Camden County Community College.  She was a branch manager for the Bank of Delaware in Dover, retiring after several years of service.  She was a member of Whatcoat United Methodist Church.  Deb enjoyed watching Survivor on television and she loved vacationing with extended family in Ocean City, MD every year. Debbie enjoyed being a mother and a wife, and what made her the happiest was watching her children’s activities. She loved watching her daughter Samantha dance ballet, tap and jazz; the annual performances of the Nutcracker were her favorite. Her son Nicholas played golf and she was his biggest fan.  He fondly remembers Debbie driving him around the course in a golf cart while he practiced.  She volunteered at the schools her children attended in the Caesar Rodney School District.

Debbie is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gerald L. White; her two children Samantha Lee Bishop and her husband Brian of Snow Hill, MD and Nicholas Jeffrey White and his wife Rachael of Claymont, DE; her sister Cindy Fili of Mt. Laurel, N.J.; her brother in laws Joseph L. White and his wife Kathi of Frankford, DE and William Jeffrey White and his wife Cindy of Townsend, DE; and her beloved nieces and nephews.

Debbie’s family would like to give special thanks to the home health caregivers who provided Debbie with loving care the last few years.  The family will be forever grateful to Sophia, Latoria, Lori, and Cindy.

A memorial service will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W.
