David Rogovsky, 73, of Delaware, formally of Davidsonville, Maryland passed away on January 31, 2025, surrounded by the family that deeply loved him. David was born on February 28, 1951, in Washington D.C., to the late Samuel and Helen Rogovsky.
David was a graduate of North Western High School, Prince George’s Community College, and the JATC Electrical Apprenticeship. After graduating from the JATC Electrical Apprenticeship, he worked his way up to become a master electrician and held master licenses in multiple states. He was an electrical foreman on multiple jobs ranging up to multi-million-dollar projects. He was a member of the IBEW Local 26 out of Washington D.C. until his retirement in 2009. At that time, he retired to Florida with his wife and became a passionate kayaker and fisherman.
David’s love for his family was abounding, especially his children and grandchildren. He was a dedicated father and spent valuable time with his children skiing, hunting, camping, and fishing. He also enjoyed taking his grandson to the Edgewater Airport to watch the planes when he was younger and eating ice cream nightly with his granddaughter.
David knew she was the one from the very first time they met, and would often tell friends that it was always her. He leaves behind his loving wife of 50 years, Dona (Salmon) Rogovsky, his daughter, Jamie (Rogovsky) Lusk, his son, Josh, his grandchildren Zachary and Shelby, and his great-granddaughters Magnolia and Georgia. He also leaves behind his siblings MaryAnn, Michael (Mark), Teresa, and Susan Rogovsky.
He is preceded in death by his brothers Gregory Rogovsky, and Samuel Rogovsky (Anne), and his sister Elizabeth Rogovsky.
David not only had a love of life, he had a love of people, and a willingness to share his talents with others, and was a mentor to many in his field over the years. David also leaves behind life-long friends who cherish the memories and good times spent with him. David was always an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman, and spent quality time with family and friends doing these things he loved throughout his life. David was one of the good ones and will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.
