Daniel A. Schaal, Jr. of Camden, Delaware passed away Sunday, July 26, 2026, in his home after a long slow battle with Alzheimer’s.
He was born on February 16, 1941, in Camden, New Jersey, son of the late Daniel A. and Margaret Kelly Schaal.
He graduated from Gloucester Catholic High School and then Rider College with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce. Before retiring he had worked as Senior Vice President for First Fidelity Bank, Trust Co. of NJ, Bank of NJ and various other banks in Pennsylvania and NJ. He was a member of the National Consumer Bankers Association and the American Bankers Association.
He is survived by his loving wife Paulette Schaal, two sisters Terry Durkin of Haddon Heights, NJ and Peg Tartaglia of Washington Township, NJ, brother John Schaal of Voorhees, NJ; daughter Dr. Jennifer Sampson of East Brunswick, NJ; sons Daniel J. Schaal of Fairfax, VA and Christopher Roberts of White Sulphur Springs, WV; grandchildren Gregory Sampson of Readington Township, NJ, Joshua Estep of Luck, WI, Jeremiah Estep of Sunbury, PA, Jordyn Roberts of New Cumberland, PA, Lilly Sampson of East Brunswick, NJ, Audrey Schaal of Fairfax, VA, James Schaal of Fairfax, VA and a great grandson Easton Estep of Sunbury, PA.
Service will be 11:00 a.m.Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 210 Old North Road, Camden, Delaware.
Burial to follow in the adjoining church memorial garden.
