Cynthia A. Spence

     Cynthia A. Spence, 63, of Magnolia passed away on September 1, 2021 at home.

     Cynthia was a nurse at Kent General Hospital, working in the NICU unit.  She then went to work at the Christiana Care and had been in nursing for many years.  She enjoyed gardening and planting flowers.  What gave her most joy was spending time with her family and her beloved pets.

     Cynthia is survived by her three children:  Stacey Marie Spence of Magnolia, Angie L. Spence of Magnolia, Johnny E. Spence and his wife Lacie of Marydel, DE: her siblings:  Gene Hopkins of Ohio, Bonnie Blankenship of Harrington, Connie Dean of Harrington, Mary Yearsley of Felton and Steve Hopkins of Harrington; her lifelong friend Sandy Morris of Hartly; her cherished neighbor, Robert Cox, III and his family of Magnolia; her former husband Wilson Spence, his wife Sandra Meding-Spence and their son Jesse Spence of Magnolia; her son-in-law Eugene Garrett of Dover; 7 grandchildren and one great granddaughter.  Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Marion Hopkins and by her brother John Hopkins.

     A funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE  19934 where friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday.  Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.  Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
