Cynthia Kay (Lindsay) Hotchkiss

     Cynthia Hotchkiss, 86, passed away peacefully at home on April 27, 2026. Born February 19, 1940 in Mechanicsburg, PA, she was the daughter of N. May (Fickes) and John M. Lindsay. She was a 1958 graduate of Cumberland Valley High School (PA), and later a faithful member of Dover United Church of Christ (PA) and secretary of People’s Church of Dover (DE). 

     Cynthia was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who dedicated herself fully to her family. She shared 55 years of marriage with her husband, Frederick W. Hotchkiss. Together, they raised four children and created a home filled with love, laughter, and strong values.

     Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband; her sister Ruby M. Lindsay; her brother John G. Lindsay; and her grandson Dillon Hotchkiss.

     She is survived by her three daughters: Stephanie Hotchkiss of Harrington, DE, Jennifer Witte (Brian) of Wilmington, DE, and Suzanne Hotchkiss-Price (Defhaun) of High Point, NC; her son Jason Hotchkiss of Camden, DE; five grandchildren: Wyatt Hotchkiss, Courtlyn and Jared Witte, Dorien Hotchkiss-Price, and Ky’Neir Brown; and her brother Donald L. Lindsay, Sr. (Mary) of Riegelsville, PA. 

     Family and friends are invited to celebrate Cynthia’s life at a Memorial Service at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, DE 19934 where friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica, DE.
