We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Pippin Funeral Home
Our Beloved Cynthia “Bug” Drew transitioned from this world suddenly, Friday, April 29th, 2022. She was 63.
Bug as she was affectionately nicknamed by her Aunt Gracie, was born March 30, 1959, to the late Maralyn and Kenneth Smith, in Dover, DE. She attended school in Dover and worked for many years as a housekeeper. For the last 20 years, until her passing she was employed at Delaware State University as a seasoned custodial technician.
Family and friends were everything to Bug. She enjoyed spending time with her daughters, they were her best friends. Time spent with her sisters and grandchildren filled much of her free time. She recently began traveling with her family and loved to explore new places, try new food, and take lots of pictures. She cherished the memories she made on family vacations, and always talked about the next place she wanted to visit. Making people laugh was a special talent of Bug’s, she always had a joke to tell. You could count on her to tell it like it is, but her genuine, caring spirit was felt by all she knew.
She joins in everlasting glory her beloved husband Stephen Sr., her 2 children Stephen Jr. and Shontae, and loving mother Sookie, all of whom she missed with her whole heart.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Tamika Drew of Dover, DE whom she lived with. Christina Boyer (Michael) of Camden-Wyoming, DE, Catherine Simmons (Jakai) of Smyrna, DE, and Claudia Drew (DeMarkus) of Dover, DE; two bonus children, Nika Reid (Kevin) of Frankford, DE and Darrell Woods (Natalia) of Champange, IL. 13 Grandchildren; Lynejah, JC, Micah (Ro), Sierra, Carla, Gavin, DeMiyah, Kimberly, Tatiyana, DeMarkus II, Andrew, Asha, and Asante.; three sisters; Beverly Bordley (Steve) of Dover, DE. Karen Tucker (Charles) of Felton, DE, and Jackie Benson of Dover, DE; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, friends, and work family.
The family extends our sincerest appreciation for all the prayers and generosity we received during this difficult time.
