Cheyenne Elizabeth Merritt, 17, of Dover, Delaware, passed away on February 9, 2026.
Cheyenne is preceded in death by her maternal uncle, Jesse Beebe; maternal grandparents, John and Sara Fortney; paternal great-grandparents, Donald Brown, Sr. and Henrietta Shapiro; paternal grandfathers George Merritt, Jr. and David Paul Lewandowski, Sr.
Cheyenne will be remembered as a sweet individual who had a big heart and would do anything for anyone. She looked forward to graduating and getting her diploma. Cheyenne enjoyed crocheting, singing, dancing, and loved all types of music. Cheyenne also loved the outdoors, going to the beach and fishing. She loved animals and eventually wanted to own a farm.
Cheyenne is survived by her daddy and mommy, George Merritt, III and Elizabeth Merritt; brother George Merritt IV; maternal grandparents, Joan and Scott Beebe; maternal grandparents, John and Sara Fortney; paternal grandmother, Marie Lewandowski; great grandfather, Pop Neal; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as her father Ken Clough.
A funeral service for Cheyenne will take place on Monday, February 16, 2026, at 2:00pm at Pippin Funeral Home. The family will receive friends two hours prior, beginning at 12:00pm. A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 12:00pm at Sharon Hills Memorial Park.
