Cheryl Lynn Jones

Cheryl Lynn Jones, 59, of Dover, Delaware, passed peacefully on March 26, 2026. 

Born on July 30, 1966, in Wilmington, Delaware, Cheryl became a lifelong resident of Dover, Delaware.  

Cheryl graduated from Dover High School, Class of 1984, and from the University of Delaware, Class of 1988. Cheryl started her career at WSFS Bank before moving on serving many years with the State of Delaware. Throughout her career, Cheryl was known for her reliability, kindness, and quiet strength. 

Cheryl had a deep love for reading and could often be found immersed in a good book. She also had a special place in her heart for animals, not only cherishing her own, but also dedicating her time to fostering and helping animals in need. 

She is survived by her mother, Caroline Jones; her brother, Franklin L. Jones II, and his wife, Tina Jones; and her niece and nephew, Sydney Jones and Tyler Jones. She was preceded in death by her father, Franklin W. Jones.   

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Cheryl’s Aunt Carolyn and Uncle Dennis for their loving support in Cheryl’s final months. 

A public graveside service is scheduled for Wednesday, April 8, 2026 @ 1:00 pm at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Camden Delaware. All are welcome to join in honoring and remembering such a wonderful person.   

In lieu of flowers, donations in Cheryl’s honor may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, Pet Rescue efforts, or a charity of your choice.
