Charles Alvin Donophan, age 83, passed away on June 19, 2026, surrounded by his family.
He was born November 26, 1942, to the late William Donophan and Georgia Larimore Donophan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Milton, Earnest, Dorothy, Joyce, Clarence, Violet, and Jimmy.
Charles is survived by his children, Dwayne Donophan of Camden-Wyoming, DE and Terry (Rodney) Shoop of Marceline, MO; Grandchildren, Megan (Jake) Tarpening of Marceline, MO, Matthew (Kaysee) Shoop of Albuquerque, NM, and Molly (Ben) Moran of Thompson, MO; 8 great grandchildren, Preston, Kingston, Tynzlee and Hazley Tarpening, Charlie Schleicher, Olivia Shoop, and Luke and Ace Moran; sisters, Angilee Hobbs and Joan Donophan; special friend Donna (Maxine) Watford; and several nieces and nephews.
Charles retired from the Delaware Department of Transportation as Supervisor of the Beautification Department in 2001. There, he was able to display his love for all things flowers and trees. He was an outdoor enthusiast. He enjoyed gardening, his animals, hunting, and fishing. What Charles loved most was spending time with his family and friends.
A funeral service for Charles will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 11:00 am at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, DE 19934, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden, DE.
