Carole Anne Glasspool, aged 89, passed on October 17, 2024, peacefully at home in Felton, Delaware. Born on May 16, 1935, Carole's life was marked by her insatiable curiosity, intelligence, and a fun-loving spirit that endeared her to all who knew her.
Carole was a lifelong advocate for individuals with disabilities, dedicating her career to significant causes including contributions to the American with Disabilities Act. Her passion for making the world a more inclusive place was paralleled by her love for reading, solving crossword puzzles, enjoying diverse music, and savoring great food with great friends.
Educated in Monroe, NY for both her primary and high school years, Carole furthered her education at Delaware Technical & Community College, which underpinned her professional journey and advocacy work.
Carole was a cherished member of a loving family and is survived by her son, Dana E. Glasspool and his wife, Kathryn Glasspool; daughter, Laurie Anne Watts and her husband, Sean H Watts; grandsons, Ryan Glasspool, and his wife, Amy; Jason Glasspool, and his wife, Tess; granddaughter, Britni Jaeb, and her husband Dillan; her sister in law, Dorothy Bowles; and several nieces and nephews including Gregory Thornton, his husband Jeffrey; Gary Grasselena, his partner Carol Meyer Anstey; Cheri Nosworthy and Linda Park. Moreover, she was incredibly proud of her great grandsons, Lincoln Glasspool and Edison Glasspool.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents, Vera and Frank Kasch; her husband of 23 years, Leonard G. Glasspool, followed by her life partner of 31 years, Richard Harrison; siblings, Robert Kasch, Loretta Smith, Barbara Janet Grasselena, and June Innocent.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date to honor the remarkable life of Carole Glasspool. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either Humane Animal Partners Delaware or Independent Resources, Inc. in her memory, supporting causes close to her heart.
