Brian Raymond Bennett

Brian Raymond Bennett, 64, of Marydel, DE, passed away unexpectedly on April, 11th, 2025. 

He was born on November 15th, 1960, son to William and Constance Bennett. 

Brian, commonly known as “Henry” by close friends, was raised in Marydel, DE and graduated from Dover High School in 1978. While still in high school, he began his career in carpentry and also joining his father and brother in the Bennett Treated Lawn Furniture business. He became a skilled carpenter and a perfectionist in his trade. Carpentry was Brian’s innate gift and Divine purpose. He was truly the happiest with a pencil behind his ear, covered in saw dust and mumbling things only he would understand. 

When he was not busy building or repairing things, Brian was a baseball aficionado. He played hardball into his late 30s for the Denton Tigers, spent time umpiring little league and rarely missed a Baltimore Orioles game. Reminiscing always on his favorites Cal Ripken Jr. and Eddie Murray. He also enjoyed watching the Baltimore Ravens, listening to classic rock, telling stories and using his humor to lighten the weight of the world. Most importantly, Brian loved his family and was proud of his daughters. 

Brian is survived by his mother Constance Bennett; daughters, Renee Cumens and Gabrielle Bennett ; brother, Kevin Bennett; niece, Shannon McClean and her children. He was preceded in death by his father William Bennett; brother, Ronnie Bennett; sisters, Susan McClean (Pat) and Diane Bennett; son, Matthew Bennett; and nephew, Bradley McClean.

A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, Delaware.
