It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Bonnie Jean Miller, age 89, of Dover, Delaware, on May 22, 2026.
Born on April 9, 1937, Bonnie found joy in life's simple pleasures and cherished the beauty around her. She loved collecting unique knick-knacks and had a lifelong passion for reading. In
fact, she once sat down and read the entire novel Jaws in a single day. She also enjoyed watching science fiction movies and never missed an opportunity to relax with reruns of The Golden Girls.
During her children's younger years, Bonnie spent countless summer days in the kitchen baking fresh fruit pies and preserving vegetables grown in her garden. Her family especially treasured the warm cinnamon rolls she lovingly baked as a special treat. Through her cooking, gardening, and caring spirit, she created countless memories that will be cherished forever.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Freddie Lyons Miller; her son, Keith Bryan Miller, her grandson, Victor Soriano Miller; her father, John Henry Cain; her mother, Ethel Gertrude (Bidwell) Cain; her brothers, Frank, Ray, Bob, John, and her sisters, Leola, Lorene, and Ethel.
She is survived by her children, Robert D. Miller, Charlene K. Miller, Daniel E. Miller, Mark A. Miller, and Luann L. Ophdal, daughter-in-law, Tammy, Wanda, Teresa, and Pam, twelve grandchildren, Angela, Freddie, Robert, Jennifer, Chelli, Dale, Andrew, Andrea, Crystal, Bruce, and Christopher, and eleven great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts.
Mom,
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sunshine warm upon your face;
The rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
You will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered,
and forever cherished.
