Bobby B Brown, ninety-four of Dover, Delaware, passed away peacefully in his home on April 16th, 2026, surrounded by family.
Bob filled up every room he entered. Born May 26th, 1931, in Oak Ridge, North Carolina. He attended Oak Ridge Elementary School and graduated from Summerfield High School in 1948. As the first person in his family to go to college, he graduated from North Carolina State University in 1952 with a degree in Civil Engineering. Immediately following college, he accepted a commission in the United States Army and served as a part of occupation forces in West Germany. He left the army as a captain.
He spent his entire life in service to his community and church, serving on the board of directors of the Caesar Rodney School Board, Kent General Hospital Foundation, President of the Modern Maturity Center, and Child Evangelism Fellowship. He was an active member of Christ Memorial Baptist Church where he served in multiple capacities, taught Sunday School for over 70 years and was named Deacon for Life.
He was the President of Tilcon Construction Company until his retirement in 1986.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Joan; sister Faye Ellison (William) son, David Brown (Jill) daughters Susan Hoffmann (Ken) and Jean Boyton Brown (Paul); four grandchildren, Laura Sakhuja (Kunal), Melanie Springer (Patrick), Nathaniel Stoner-Hoffmann (Sydney), and Kumari Ross and nine great grandchildren.
The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to Accent Care Hospice.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 7th at 4 PM at Pippin Funeral Home in Wyoming, Delaware with visitation from 3-4 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Voices of the Martyrs or Samaritan’s Purse
