Betty Jo Bowling of Dover, DE died on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at home under Hospice care with her son Ronnie by her side.
Betty Jo was born on May 25, 1937 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky and was the daughter of the late Charley and Norma Crum Justice. She was raised in Nolan, West Virginia where she graduated from Chattaroy High School. After high school, she moved to Columbus, Ohio and later moved to Dover, Delaware where she lived for the remainder of her life. Throughout her years, she worked in a variety of positions, but found her true calling to be as a housewife.
Betty Jo enjoyed taking care of others and was extremely dedicated to her immediate and extended family. In addition, she loved the holidays and cherished preparing for the festivities. Being one of twelve brothers and sisters, she especially loved sharing memories of growing up in West Virginia and the family dynamics of her younger years living, "Up the Holler".
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Bowling, and later companion, Angelo Paoletti. In addition, 6 sisters: Geraldine Sparks, Laura Moffett, Dixie Blanchfield, Ruth Ford, Lottie Crum, Christine Collins, and 3 brothers: George Justice, Randolph Justice, and Billy Joe Justice.
Betty Jo is survived by her son Norman Ronald Everett, her sister Norma Lea Gochnauer (Richard) of Elkton, MD, and her brother Robert Justice (Nancy) of Pensacola, FL; brother-in-law Harold Moffett, sisters-in-law Bernie Justice and Delores Justice; nieces and nephews; and her beloved friend Beverly Courtney.
The family would like to thank Delaware Hospice for their excellent care of Betty Jo.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. with visitation beginning at 10:15 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934. Burial will follow at Sharon Hills Memorial Park in Dover, Delaware. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
