Barbara Ann Hinton Snowden was born to the late Margaret S. and William G. Hinton on August 16, 1949 and departed this life on May 29, 2025.
Barbara received her elementary education at Ellendale Elementary School. She met her future husband at William C. Jason Comprehensive High School in Georgetown DE.
On November 12, 1967 she married Jerone W. Snowden. They had 4 children: William Jr., Jacquelyn, Derrick, and Desmond. They were long time members of St. John FBH Church of Milford, DE where Elder Nathaniel Fulton was the Pastor.
She was affectionately known as “Bob” by her high school sweetheart of 57 years, whom she called “Snowden”, and called “Mom-Mom” by her 6 grand and 14 great grandchildren, and “Aunt Ann” or ‘’Auntie” by her nieces and nephews, and “Barbara Ann” by her siblings, and cousins.
She loved to cook and BOY! could she cook macaroni and cheese, potato salad, greens, BBQ, and fried chicken. She also liked to clean. She loved her gospel music as well. Her favorite song was Goin Up Yonder. She was a praying woman of faith.
Preceding her in death are her parents William G. and Margaret S. Hinton; her sister Alice B. Hinton and her brothers; Larry, William G. Jr., and Roger Hinton.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband Jerone Snowden; children: William (Wendy), Jacquelyn, Derrick (Trina), and Desmond; and grand and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 7, 2025 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934 where there will be a viewing from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Saturday. Burial will follow in Milford Community Cemetery, Milford, DE.
