It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Arthur “Art” Douglas Evans on July 7, 2025 at the age of 68. He was born in Dover, DE on April 30, 1957 to the late Eva Mae and Charles Evans. He was preceded in death by his parents Eva Mae and Charles Evans and his brother James “Jimmy” Evans. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Darlene Evans; his daughters Angela Evans and Faye Evans; grandchildren: Brei Encarnacion, Lauren Timmons, Alexis Sheridan, Brooklyn Sheridan, and Kirra Gardner; his sisters Aline Hutchins and her husband Kenny and Donna Vaughn and her husband Randy; his brother and best friend Charles “Chucky” Evans and his wife Karen; along with numerous nieces and nephews; his mother and father-in-law Doris and Burley Looney; brother-in-laws Bruce Looney and Mark Looney and his wife Terri, whom loved him like a son and brother.
He was a “Jack of all trades” over the years being employed as a warehouse manager, maintenance supervisor, black top finisher, drywall finisher, car detailing manager, butcher, family mechanic and many other careers. Also known as “The Buck Hunter”, he loved hunting, working on cars, maintaining and upgrading his home and property. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan and bled Blue, “We Dem Boys”, he would say. He was a dedicated, fun, loving, supportive husband of 48 years. He loved his daughters, grandchildren, and wife fiercely and was a true protector to them all.
This is not goodbye but see you later and he will be deeply and dearly missed the rest of our days until then.
