Arleta Johnson Obituary

     Arleta Johnson, age 78, passed away peacefully on Friday,  March 6, 2020 at Kent General in Dover, DE.  She was born on September 21, 1941 to Bonnie Mae Morris and was the youngest of five.

     She attended Dunbar School, a segregated middle school in Tucson, Arizona and became a graduate of Tucson High School.  Arleta was married and divorced.  She worked at the Dover AFB Patterson Dining Facility as well as AAFES Shopette for many years.  Arleta truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures: chatting with friends and family, playing bingo, doing puzzles and spending time with her Modern Maturity family.  Arleta had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way.

     She was preceded in death by her mother Bonnie Morris and siblings Willie Goynes, Lillie Stringer and Archie Johnson.

     Arleta is survived by her sister Reola Hendrix;  daughters Michelle Mack-Williams (Gregory Williams) of Middletown, Michael Mack, Tucson, Arizona, Mitzi Jack, Tampa, Florida, son Jeffrey Mack, Smyrna; grandson Reginald "Rome" Dunn, Middletown; great grandson De'Kari Peoples, Washington, D.C.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

     Family, friends and others whose lives that Arleta touched are invited to a funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 14, 2020 (Pastor Neale officiating) at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934 where there will be a viewing from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. Saturday.  Burial will follow in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica. Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
