Anthony W. “Tony” Tharp, 38, of Smyrna passed away suddenly on January 4, 2021.
Tony was currently employed as an equipment operator for D&D Construction and had been working there for 20 years. Previously, he was a crabber working on crab boats and had also worked as an auto mechanic. Tony enjoyed kayaking, crabbing, hunting, fishing, boating, and enjoyed cooking. Within the last year or so he had become an amateur beekeeper. Tony also immensely enjoyed parenting his son, Tyler.
Tony is survived by his mother Pamela J. Wills and his step father Karl of Smyrna; his father, Anthony W. Strasser of Clayton; his son, Tyler David Tharp; his fiancé, Emily Seely of Smyrna; his brother Aaron Tharp and his wife Mary of Smyrna; his maternal grandfather David Tharp of Townsend; his step mother Sharon Strasser of Smyrna; his aunt Jennifer DiAngelo and her husband Aaron of Florida; his uncle Dickie Tharp and his wife Kelly; and his extended family Winnie Wills, Carol Wills, Jim Wills, and Gene Wills; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday January 16, 2021 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934 where there will be a walkthrough visitation from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. Saturday. COVID-19 protocol will be in effect (maximum 50 people in the funeral home at one time). The family will have a private burial at a later date.
