Amy Love Obituary

Amy Nadine Love, 43, of Dover passed away on November 1, 2018.

Amy was born in Milford, DE on October 3, 1975 to Janice Love and the late Fred Love, Sr. She transitioned from this life with her family by her side at Season’s Hospice on November 1, 2018. Amy is preceded in death by her father, Fred Love, Sr., paternal grandmother, Thelma Cruz, maternal grandfather, James Blackwell, Sr., maternal grandmother, Daisy Blackwell, maternal great-grandmother, Daisy Lyles, aunts Kay Baynard and Maxine Wanzer, and uncle James Blackwell, Jr.

Amy attended schools in the Capital School District of Dover, DE and graduated from Dover High School in 1994. Amy was very active during her school years, participating in the Dover High School Gospel Choir, Dover High School Girls’ Track Team, Jobs for Delaware Graduates (JDG), the Tri-State Gospel Choir, and the neighborhood softball team – the “Whatcoat Black Sox”.

While attending New Jerusalem Baptist Church at an early age, Amy received the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was baptized. As an adult, Amy rededicated her life to the Lord and began a renewed relationship with Him before leaving this life.

As a teenager, Amy was eager to be independent and worked odd jobs to make money and show her responsibility. After being disabled in her 20’s, Amy dedicated her life to her children. As their sole provider, she did everything in her power to make sure “T-n-T” had what they needed. It was her joy to see them happy. Amy was blessed to have been present for the birth of her grandchildren and her godson. They brought “mom-mom” the deepest happiness.

Amy enjoyed watching old Kung Fu films, WWE Raw, and Game of Thrones. Her favorite things to do were eating crabs, cooking with her mom, trash-talking through a game of Spades with anybody, and spending time laughing with her brothers, her sister, and her friends. In her early 30’s, she loved going “downstairs” at the Elks Lodge to party and have a good time. Also, Amy truly loved her Whatcoat Family!

Amy is survived by her mother, Janice Love (Dover), son, Titus Freeman, Jr (Dover), daughter, Ty’Zarrah Freeman (Dover), three brothers, Fred Love, Jr, (Arizona), Darrick Love, Sr. (Dover), Derrick Lake (Dover), two sisters, Darlene Dickerson (Rhode Island), Leslee Love (Newark), two granddaughters, A’Mylah and Iris, one grandson, Sa’Kai, one godson, Darryl, best friend Tanya Cruz-Ortiz (Dover), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, god sisters, and friends.
