Allan Reed

Allan Reed, 92, of Dover, Delaware, passed away on Sunday, 07, 2025.  Allan was born in Westport, Massachusetts, to the late Walter and Kate Reed.  In addition to his parents, Allan was preceded in death by his daughters, Lisa Joe Ivey and Laurie Reed; and his mother-in-law, Dorothy Moniz.

Allan served three years in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He enjoyed bowling and boating, even though he couldn’t swim. He was very skilled with his hands and was a quiet person. He also was very active in the Toys for Tots organization.

Allan is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lydia Reed; children, Allan J. Reed, Michael Reed, Melinda Frith (Vincent) and Christopher Moniz (Tet); four grandchildren; seven great-granddaughters; brothers in law Ralph Moniz and Albert Moniz; special friends, Dave Van Kavelaar, Patty Seaman, and Jason Muntan; as well as extended family members and friends.

A memorial service for Allan will take place on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Pippin Funeral Home at 11:00 am.  The family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 am.
