Agnes E. Nixon, born on July 4, 1963 and called home on October 12, 2024, was a vibrant soul who always had the last say and never missed an opportunity to make her loved ones laugh.
Agnes measured her accomplishments through her legacy – her love for the Lord, good food, and lively conversations with friends. Known for her hearty appetite and laughter, she embraced life with oversized plates and a side of humor, often declaring, “Over the top? Me? Of course!”
Agnes cherished her parents, who shaped the extraordinary person she became. She missed her mom dearly and remembered her hard-headed dad as a responsible man who taught her never to settle for less. Surrounded by friends who cared, she knew how to connect with people who could overlook her quirks and embrace her delightful excesses.
Agnes was infamous for talking too much and being a bit intrusive, but her storytelling was infectious. She often engaged everyone with, “Take a seat, and let me tell you a story!” Whether emotional or a jokester, she had a knack for making people laugh, showcasing a repertoire of both clean and not-so-clean jokes.
She famously stated, “Am I excessive? Absolutely! Annoying? You bet!” But that was all part of her unique charm.
With a heart full of love for her neighbors, Agnes often wished she had said “I love you” more often to those closest to her. So here it goes: **She loved you all!**
As friends and family gather to remember her, Agnes leaves behind a simple reminder: life is too short not to love more. She encouraged everyone to find something to look forward to, something to love, and something to do.
She is preceded in death by her father (Alfonso), mother (Ann), two sisters (Charlene and Rachel), and one brother (Alfonso Jr.).
Agnes is survived by her sisters Edna, Althea, and Leslie; brother Anthony; and brothers in love Gordon Sr., and Kevin; a host of nephews and nieces, Loren, DJ, Gordon Jr., Daniel (Will), AJ (Tay), Elijah, Marcus, Lawren aka Lil’ Rachel, Norman, James aka Lil’ Jay, and Titus aka Tony Jr. She has three great-nephews Ahmad, Aleem, and Andre.
Agnes will be deeply missed, but her spirit and boundless love will continue to shine in the hearts of those she touched. So, as they gather to remember her, they will honor her by loving more, laughing often, and, of course, remembering to eat!
A memorial service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934. Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
