Tilishia M (Tolson) Ross

     Tilishia Marie Ross “Ticey”, of Felton, Delaware, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a short battle with leukemia in the early evening of November 19, 2019. She was born on April 10, 1973 in Fort Knox, Kentucky to William Tolson and the late Patricia Tolson. She was raised by a loving father, William Tolson, who she adored and who adored her back, and a loving mother, Gladys Catchings.

    Tilishia was educated in the Caesar Rodney School District. She completed high school at Caesar Rodney High School. Tilishia married Wyoming Ross Jr. on September 20, 2014. They shared almost 30 years together, five of the years married to one another. With their love, Tilishia and Wyoming gave life to three beautiful girls, Brittany Tolson, Tatyana Tolson, and Natasha Ross. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Nolan Tolson, her grandmother Mary Tolson, her mother-in-law, Bessie Mae Ross, her father-in-law, Sherman Lee Catchings, her nephew, Martell McInnis (NuNu), her brother, Markus Catchings, and her sister, Teresa Butcher. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

    She worked at K-Mart, in Dover, Delaware for ten years. She was then employed at Big Lots, also in Dover for almost fifteen years. She resided at Big Lots until she passed away. Tilishia enjoyed her work very much. She was a social butterfly and everyone that she came into contact with loved her. She had an infectious and contagious laugh that made you laugh along with her. She enjoyed hanging out with friends and family, and she absolutely loved eating seafood, especially crabs and shrimp. Her favorite pastime of all was hanging out with her two handsome grandsons, Sa’Mahj Jaden Lamar Tolson and A’siyh Ka ’Mir Anthony Ross.

    Tilishia leaves her memories to cherish with her husband Wyoming Ross Jr., her three daughters Brittany, Tatyana, and Natasha; two grandsons, Sa’Mahj Tolson and A’siyh Ross; her father and stepmother William and Desiree Tolson of Hampton, VA; her mother Gladys Catchings; her father-in-law Wyoming Ross Sr.; brothers Donald Tolson (Dump) of Wilmington, DE, Anthony Tolson (Tony) and sister-in-law Stacey Tolson of Bensalem, PA, Howard Swigget (Joey) and sister-in-law Latoya Swigget of Dover, DE, Nolan Tolson (Herman) of Baltimore, MD; her brothers Chandler Catchings, Glenn Catchings, Markice Catchings and Kyland Catchings of Magnolia, DE, and Richard Butcher of Christiana, DE; sisters Lillian Carla McDowell and brother-in-law George McDowell of Charlotte, NC, Donna Suttles (DeeDee) and brother-in-law Daniel Suttles of Clinton, MD; her sister Brandy Fladger of Hampton, VA; sisters-in-law Katrina Ross-Pierce of New Castle, DE and Benita Rufus-Gassi of Felton, DE; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, other family and friends.

     A funeral service will be 10:30 Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church, Queen and Fulton Streets, Dover, DE 19904 where there will be a viewing from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. on Saturday.  Burial will be private.  A full obituary will appear at a later date.
