TSGT (Retired) Jimmie M. “Rich” Richardson, 75, of Felton passed away on August 4, 2018.
Jimmie served proudly in the United States Air Force for over 20 years of active duty service. He was stationed around the world, one of which was in the Vietnam War, before retiring with the rank of Technical Sergeant. Afterwards, he worked in civil service for 23 years at Dover Air Force Base 436th Aerial Port Squadron, before retiring again in 2007.
Rich enjoyed fishing and hunting with friends and family. He liked to go to the casinos with his wife and enjoyed the buffets. He enjoyed NASCAR and was a fan of Tony Stewart. He enjoyed football and was a fan of the New York Giants and the University of Alabama Crimson Tide. Jimmie also enjoyed baseball and was a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and the Baltimore Orioles. He enjoyed building model cars and he loved dirt track racing. He also was a handyman that enjoyed fixing things around the house for his family. He especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and school activities.
Mr. Richardson is survived by his wife of 43 years, Elena (Alterado) Richardson; his two daughters, Rachel A. Richardson and Pamela L. Richardson both of Felton; his sister Mary Ethel Mathis of GA; and six grandchildren: Angelo Richardson, Shawn A. McConnell, Lia Proud, Christopher Richardson, Brian Hill, Jr. and Antonio Casula. Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Madge Richardson, his brother Charley Richardson and his son, Albert A. Richardson.
A funeral service will be 4:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934 where there will be a viewing from 3:00 to 4:00 P.M. Tuesday.
