Raymond "Poe" Henry

     Raymond Henry, age 93, of Townsend, DE, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. “Poe” was born in Berkeley Springs, WV, son of the late Edgar L. Henry and Lelia Mae Fritzman. 

      Poe had worked for Fairchild in Hagerstown, MD and then was transferred to Boeing-Vertol, serving as an aircraft mechanic for many years.  Afterwards, he had been in charge of shipping and receiving for Braunstein’s for many years.  He had served in the United States Air Force. Poe enjoyed many activities, especially hunting and watching NASCAR.

     Poe is survived by his daughter Linda Hovermale and her husband Lewis Paul of Berkeley Springs, WV; his son Shawn H. Henry and his wife Sandy of Townsend, DE; his daughter in law, Kathleen Henry of Middletown, DE; and his grandchildren: Rodney Hovermale and his wife Betsy of Berkeley Springs, WV, Jennifer K. El and her husband Dannie of Middletown, DE, Thomas E. Henry, Jr. and his wife Stacey of Wenonah, NJ, Shawn H. Henry, Jr. of Townsend, DE, and Amber R. Henry of Townsend, DE; and eight great grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Irene Crites Henry, his son Thomas E. Henry, one sister and two brothers.
