Phyllis D. Moore, a loving daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, of Dover, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, May 10, 2018, in her home. She was 57.
Phyllis was born September 6, 1960, in Dover, DE. She graduated from Caesar Rodney/Polytech High School where she earned a degree in cosmetology. Later in life, she took it upon herself to go back to school, where she acquired a second degree in massage therapy. She also proudly served in the United States Army for 6 years. Her love of people and her want to help them in any way that she could, continuously led her to choose jobs that consisted of customer service. Whether the gesture was big or small, she never passed up an opportunity to brighten up someone else's day, either with her infectious smile or her own personal rendition of the happy birthday song. Her daily routines didn't have to consist of extravagant experiences. Spending time with family or something as simple as just relaxing while watching her daily list of television shows, Disney movies, or anything that was considered Sci-Fi, all while in her pajamas, that she would wear anywhere, suited her just fine. She was an outgoing woman who had no filter and she never allowed anyone else's definition of what was embarrassing to impact any of her decisions. All in all, she loved her family with every fiber of her being. Even if you weren't a blood relative, if she considered you family, she would definitely make room in her heart for you! She was a dynamite woman!
She was preceded in death by her father, Walden Miller.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Ronny Ray McCoy, of Wyoming and Nikkia Janelle Sykes, of Dover; her mother, Elizabeth C. Mitchell, of Dover; her dad, Raymond Mitchell; her siblings, Marshella Clark, Walden Clark, & Rodney Miller, all of Dover, and Yolanda Bryant, of Newark, New York; her grandchildren, Ayannah, Teyvion, Kahnyae, and Cyrian McCoy, Sylveah & Syriah Sykes; as well as extended family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3 pm, Saturday, May 19, 2018, in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave. Wyoming; where family and friends may gather 1 hour before. Condolences may be sent via: www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
