Mildred G (McMahan) Garland

     Mildred Grace (McMahan) Garland, 90, of Dover passed away on August 29, 2018.

     Mrs. Garland was a homemaker.  She was a member of Reisterstown Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Mildred enjoyed gardening, doing needlework and singing hymns.  She also enjoyed playing cards with friends, especially pinochle. 

     The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to State Street Assisted Living and to Seasons Hospice for their excellent care.

     Her husband Jack Garland, passed away in 1993.  She is survived by three children:  Jacqueline M. Barnes and her husband Greg D. Barnes of Dover, G. Michael Garland and his wife Helen of Bath, North Carolina and J. Kevin Garland of Westminster, MD; two sisters, Faye McCarthy of Marion, NC and Alice Young and her husband Richard of Hendersonville, NC; one granddaughter, Kelly Garland Vengroski and her husband John of Ellicott City, MD and three great grandchildren: Ian, Julianne and Aaron.

      A graveside service will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 2800 Old Westminster Pike, Finksburg, MD 21048. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Delaware Valley Chapter Headquarters, 399 Market Street, Suite #102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.  Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
