Life Story
Michael ("Mike") Anthony Fains was born on November 1, 1958 to the late James "Joe" Fains and Betty Williams Fains. On January 25, 2019, God called Mike home to rest.
Mike was educated in the Camden City school system. He attended Private Catholic School until the 9th grade, Mike transferred and attended Camden High School, he graduated in 1978.
Mike began his employment history working at the Hyatt House Hotel where he was a passionate caterer, and at the Flintkote Drywall Company. He was also an experienced telemarketer. Mike was a natural "People Person" and he had the ability to get jobs done with ease. Mike was blessed with a loving daughter, Michelle Fains and two precious grandchildren; Taniyah and Zion.
Mike loved the EAGLES and was a loyal fan. He enjoyed listening to music his favorite artists were Earth Wind and Fire and Santana. He also enjoyed attending concerts.
Mike lived in several states. He relocated to Georgia to be near his beloved daughter Michelle Fains. He returned to Delaware when his health started to decline. When Mike returned to Delaware, he joined and loved attending services at Bryd's Chapel AME Church in Clayton, under the Pastoral Covering of Rev. Dawn S. Christopher.
Mike's final days were spent in Pinnacle Rehab and Health Center under the watchful care of his beloved mother Betty. She would leave her room and visit Mike all day making them both happy to be in each other's presence.
Mike was preceded in death by his Father James Fains, and Sister Judy Fains Judge. He leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate is life, beloved mother Betty Fains, loving daughter Michelle, devoted sisters Yvonne "Bonnie" Daniels, Clayton, DE, Gwendolyn McKnight, Middleton, DE, Brenda Fains Galloway, Sicklerville,NJ; grandchildren Taniyah Durham, Zion Temple, grandson on the way to be named Michael; childhood homeboy/brother James "Nicky" Williams, host of nieces and nephews, extended family and special friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00am on Saturday, February 2, 2015 at Byrd's AME Church 131 Dickerson St. Clayton, DE 19938 where friends may call after 9:00am
