CAMDEN- Mary Ann (Simpson) Teller, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died January 03, 2019. Born on August 30,1933, daughter of William Burnham (WB) and Mary W. Simpson, she lived all of her life in the Camden area. She graduated from Caesar Rodney-where she was actively involved with Student Council, basketball and FHA- and the University of Delaware with a degree in Home Economics. She married Robert S. Teller in 1956 and raised 2 children David (Marsha) and Jeffrey. She was preceded in death by her husband (1984) and her brothers George and Delbert. In addition to her sons, she is survived by her grandchildren, Brandon(Kristen), Morgan and Lauren and her loving and caring sister Jane Bethard (Ken).
She was heavily involved in politics from an early age, probably influenced by her Uncle Walt, and was dubbed the “Prime Minister of Camden” for her years of work on the Planning & Zoning Commission, Board of Adjustment and Election boards. She was an avid bridge player and member of Rising Sun Community Club. After college, she worked as a teacher, and when the kids got older she became almost a full time substitute school teacher- mostly at CRHS. While she loved subbing, she really loved meeting the hundreds of kids she taught later on in life! She was an avid Eagles and Ravens fan as well as almost anything football!
A funeral service will be held at Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming, DE at 11:30am on Tuesday, January 8, with internment at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the WB Simpson college scholarship fund, 310 William St, Camden DE 19934.
