Marie Stubbs Flanagan Porter, of Frederica, formerly of Clio, South Carolina, passed away Friday, September 8, 2017, in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. She was 90.

   Marie was born, May 24, 1927, in Clio, South Carolina, to the late John Douglas Stubbs and Mary Wesley Jones.

   She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, of Frederica; a member of the Victory Chapter # 15 Order of the Eastern Star of Dover; and a member of the Chapter # 1546 Women of the Moose, in Wyoming, DE. Marie was also a member of the Kent County Womens Democratic Club, and Committee Woman of the 33rd District. She retired from the Kent County Recorder of Deeds Office, having served 30 years in several positions including Deputy Recorder of Deeds. Marie also worked at the Farmers Bank of the State of Delaware, in Dover.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Thomas Flanagan & Martin Porter; her 2 brothers, John Douglas Stubbs and James Harvey Stubbs; and 2 sisters, Mary Pauline McInnis and Eva Eunice Outten.

    Marie is survived by her 2 sons, Douglas Michael Flanagan, & his wife, Diane and Thomas Eugene Flanagan & wife, Patsy, all of Felton; 3 granddaughters, Theresa Ann Heinold & husband, Michael; of Townsend;  Jill Renee Rodelli, of  Bear; and Katie Lynn Flanagan, of Felton; a great-granddaughter, Shelby Sue Heinold, of Townsend; and a  great-grandson, Dawson Rodelli, of  Hudson, Florida.

   Funeral Services will be held at 11am, Wednesday, September 13, 2017, in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming; where family and friends may view 1 hour before. Burial will follow in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
