Linda Hope Gehling of Camden, Delaware, passed away January 5, 2018. Linda was born in Morristown, New Jersey on March 26, 1942, the daughter of the late Russell & Josephine Gehling.
Linda graduated from Watchung Hills Regional High School in Watchung, New Jersey and received her B.A. at Ursinus College. Linda later attended Lehigh University and took classes at the University of Delaware in acting, theatrical costuming and makeup.
Linda spent 28 years at Caesar Rodney High School teaching psychology and human behavior. She poured many long hours, love and passion into Caesar Rodney's theater department overseeing the stage crew and Thespian Society and directing many plays and musicals.
After retiring from Caesar Rodney, Linda moved to Colorado, working as a substitute in the Jefferson County School District before returning to Delaware and the halls and classrooms of Caesar Rodney High School as a substitute teacher.
Linda is survived by her daughter Josie & husband Robert Strannahan; grandchildren, William “Will” & wife Jessica Bennett, Victoria, Bryden & Coty Strannahan & Liz Dolan; great grandchildren Kayla, Hunter, Mckenzie, Braylyn, Trent, Robert & Carmen and by her siblings Carol Gehling, Margaret Gehling, Jennifer Sweet and Russell Gehling.
A memorial gathering will be Wednesday January 17th 2018 from 6pm until 7:30 pm with a service at 7:30 at Pippin Funeral home in Camden, De.
