Lee Edward Brigham of Dover, DE, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2017 surrounded by his family.  Lee was born in Burlington, Vermont on August 14, 1932, the son of John and Katherine (Dowd) Brigham. Lee was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Burlington and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.

Lee worked much of his career at Brigham’s Dairy, the family business.  Later in life, he embarked on a second career as a leasing manager for Nordic Leasing.  “Leasing Lee” was a man of great integrity and character, and was well-known and loved by many in the Burlington area and beyond.

Lee was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fly fishing and ice fishing- a passion that he shared with his children and grandchildren.  He loved traveling with his family, and among his favorite places were the Lake Mansfield Trout Club in Vermont; Goose Rocks Beach, Maine and Cancun, Mexico.  He was always the first out in the boat to fish, jump in the ocean and belly surf, and take off in a parasail over the Caribbean.  Lee was an extraordinary storyteller, and would entertain listeners for hours about his many antics and adventures.

He is survived by the love of his life and center of his universe, his wife of 63 years, Frances (Burke) Brigham; his children, Mark (Brenda) Brigham, Barrie Brigham, Lisa (Jim) Maier and Christopher (Natalie) Brigham; his grandchildren Jason, John, Joshua, Rachel, Daniel, Jimmy, Jared, Brittany, Ashley and Ciara; great-grandchildren, Kathleen, Althea, AJ and Ezra; his sisters Ruth Kinney and Katherine Loseby.  Lee was predeceased by his parents; his brothers John, Peter and Michael; his sisters Alice and Ann and his daughter-in-law, Kathleen Brigham.

Memorial Mass, Saturday, April 28, 2018, 1 pm at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 160 Hinesburg Road, South Burlington, VT 05403.  Interment with honors to follow at Resurrection Park Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the caregivers at Delaware Hospice.  Their loving support throughout these challenging times will never be forgotten.  Those who so desire, may make a memorial donation to Delaware Hospice.
