Marydel – Cadet Major Kyle R. Gilliss of Marydel passed away suddenly on October 5, 2018. At just 18 years old Kyle had accomplished more than many adults. He dreamed of becoming a pilot and serving our country. He was pending enlistment to the US Air Force. He was an FAA licensed student pilot (Private), was a member of the Air Force JROTC and was in the 931stPanther Group at Polytech High School. He was a proud member of AOPA (Aircraft owners & Pilot Association), EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) and the Dover Air Force Base Aero Club. He was a graduate of the Polytech High School’s Aerospace/Flight Program. His smile could light up a room. Kyle had worked for First State AG Air and Texas Roadhouse. He was preceded in death by a sister Kaycee T. Gilliss (2004). Kyle is survived by his loving parents, Donald and Amy Gilliss; siblings Gage E. Gilliss, Kaitlyn E. Gilliss and Donald “Donnie” Gilliss Jr.: as well as a large extended family, including; grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave. Wyoming, Delaware where a viewing will start at 11:00am.
