June C Doty

     June C. Doty, 88, quietly passed away while surrounded by family on January 4, 2020 after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born on April 16, 1931 in Auburn NY to Lawrence and Celia Wellington.

    June known, by many, as “Mother”, loved taking care of children and watching daytime television soaps. An accomplished homemaker with a special way with words, she taught us to make the best of what we have and not to cry over spilled milk ! Today, her comments still make us smile.

     June is survived by her son Ralph (Kathy) Doty of Dover Delaware; son Daniel (Carmen) Doty of Hornell, New York, Daughter Sharon (Raymond) Kurtz of Portsmouth, Virginia and daughter Brenda Finley of Auburn, New York. She is also survived by four brothers. Robert (Christine) Wellington; Richard (Debbie) Wellington of Auburn, New York; Ronald (Lyn) Wellington of San Diego, California and Gary (Maricel) Wellington of Cebu, Philippines and a sister, Shirley Johnson of Cincinnatus, New York. June was blessed with ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She is sorely missed by all who knew her. Our beloved “Mother” will be laid to rest in Rural Cemetery, Hornell NY; next to her husband truck driver Ralph W. Doty, who preceded her in death on Valentines Day, 2003.
