Joanne Hurd Donze “NaNa”, 70, of Dover peacefully went home to be with the Lord on October 30, 2017. She was born May 14, 1947 in Dover the daughter of the late George Hurd Sr. and Ada Marie Hurd Kohout.
After becoming a mother, Joanne enjoyed being a housewife and stay at home mom to her five children. She took great pride in being a loving mother to her children as well as the many friends they brought home.
Joanne enjoyed country music and singing, camping, playing cards and bingo but mostly spending time with family and friends.
She was a long time member of the Camden-Wyoming Moose Lodge.
She was preceded in death by her son Richard A. Donze, parents George Hurd Sr. and Ada Marie and Carlton Kohout, mother and father in law Robert and Bertha Donze as well as a brother Michael L. Hurd, Sr.
She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years Bobby Donze III whom she loved dearly, three sons, Rodney Satterfield of Camden, Tracey Satterfield and Annette of Woodside, and Bobby and his wife Darlene Donze of Hartly, one daughter, Crystal Corson and her husband Jim of Dover, six grandchildren, Austin Lloyd, Kyle Satterfield, Nicole Mast, Chuckie Marcum, Lilyaunna and Ava Corson, eight great grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Carol Harrison, George “Buddy” Hurd, June Bubniak, Pamela Biddle, Melissa Schroding and Jay Hurd, along with several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather two hours earlier. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Women of the Moose Chapter #1546, 760 Moose Lodge Rd., Wyoming, DE 19934.
