Joan Ruth Field

     Joan Ruth Field from Felton Delaware passed away peacefully at the Milford Hospice Center, on Saturday August 11th, 2018, She was 89.  She was proceeded in death by her husband Rodney B. Field, her sisters Evelyn Munro and Ester Elaine;  two brothers Richard' ‘Butch’ Crawford and Charles ‘Chuck’ Crawford. She was also proceeded in death by her son Warren Field and her grandson Daniel Souva.

   She is survived by her brother Edward Crawford, her sisters Pearl MaCarthy,  Carolynn Parker, Dorthy Joubert, and her in-laws: Gilman Field, Carol Crawford, who reside in New England, and her  brother in-law Clifford Munro in Delaware.

   She is also survived by her  children: Lonnie D. Field and his wife Sonja, Raymond H. Field and his wife Kathy, Leonard R. Field, Richard L. Field and her daughters, Sheryl McKay, Patricia Field and her husband Steve Josefowski; 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

  Mrs. Field was a life time member of the Bowers Beach Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and  served as Worthy Grand Matron of the Kent Chapter of Eastern Star in Harrington.  

   Joan and her husband Rodney, spent their early years in Holden  Massachusetts and belonged to the Friendly Riders Motorcycle Club. During the mid to late 40’s they sported the hills and valleys of New  England on their Indian Motorcycle. 

   Joan was a dedicated mother who loved making homemade meals and baking for her family, friends and events.  No one left Joan’s kitchen hungry. She leaves for us with fine artifacts of her quilting, sewing, crocheting, homemade preserves, and a love for music.  

Truly she will be missed by her family and friends but she leaves us fond  memories of her singing and playing guitar and the assurance that we will meet her later, “Beyond The Sunset”.

A Private internment will be held at that Veterans Cemetery in Millsboro, De. At 1PM.    Family and Friends are invited to join us for a Celebration of Life Memorial Service on Friday,  August 17that 4 PM at the Bowers Beach Fire House.

In lieu of flowers he family would sincerely appreciate donations to the Milford Hospice Center or the Bowers Fire Company.
