Jerry B. Mills, 73, of Dover passed away on May 4, 2017.
Mr. Mills had worked as a career advisor and worked in security forces for the United States Air Force, retiring after 21 years of service. Afterwards, he had worked in the Commissary at the Dover Air Force Base for about 20 years. Mr. Mills enjoyed metal detecting and was a Civil War memorabilia enthusiast. He loved birds and was an author of true ghost story books.
Mr. Mills is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy L. Mills; two children: Jerry B. Mills, Jr. of Dover and Teresa A. Byrd and her husband Tyrone of Gambrills, MD; two brothers: Lee Robert Mills of Spain and James Mills of Franklin, N.C.; two sisters: Betty Williams of Gastonia, N.C. and Reva Allen of Greenville, N.C.; and four grandchildren: Chrissy MacDiarmid, Kurt Thompson, Scott Thompson and Savannah Mills. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Brittney Mills, by his brother Joseph and by his sister Bernice.
A memorial service will be 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934 where friends may visit with the family from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday. Burial will be private.
