Jerome Freeman

     Jerome "Peas" Freeman departed this life on November 20, 2018 at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, DE after a short illness.  He was 55 years old.

     Jerome was born May 17, 1963 to Geraldine Freeman and the late Leonard Hansley.

     Jerome obtained most of his educaton in the Capitol School District.

     Jerome is survived by a son, Durron McMillian of New Jersey, one daughter, Serenity Freeman-Johnson of Dover.  He also has 3 brothers, Terry Brooks (Janice), Titus Freeman, Jeremiah Freeman all of Dover, DE.  Three sisters, Wanda Bythwood (Ron) of Valdosta, GA, Wyzetta and Sylviaanna Freeman of Dover, DE. One grandson, Durron McMillian, Jr., Dover, DE

     Jerome accepted Christ into his life earlier this year and we celebrate that we will see him again.

     Jerome enjoyed life to the fullest.  He often told stories, did card tricks, and always made his friends laugh.  Jerome easily made new acquaintances, especially ones who wore the Kraft-Heinz uniform.  He would approach them and ask “Do you know my sisters, Wonnie and Wy? Or brother, Free?” and of course many had to say yes.  Besides meeting new people he loved to listen to music; he would often carry around a wireless speaker so he could listen all the time. And like his dad, Jerome loved cars and was always buying one or looking to buy one.

     Jerome had many friends and some special friends in his life, Shannon Johnson and Shadeena Ridgeway and a host favorite nieces, nephews and friends. The family encourages everyone to cherish the memories you have of him and he will live on in our hearts.

      A funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church, 410 Fulton Street, Dover, DE 19904 where there will be a viewing from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. Saturday.  Burial will follow in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.  Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
